4 Ways to Make Your Car Buying Experience Go Faster
If there’s anything that we hear about the car buying process as a whole, it’s about the amount of time it takes to complete a transaction. While we try to minimize the amount of time for our customers as much as possible, there are going to be times where buying a car just takes some time. In order to help our Coastal customers out, we have come up with 4 ways you can help make your purchase experience go a little quicker!
1. Clean out your car.
If you’re planning on trading in your vehicle, cleaning it out will definitely speed up the process when you have to transfer everything into your newer ride. Sometimes you don’t realize just how much stuff you have in your car! Also, there are many times where people leave something and have to come by to pick it up at a later time. By putting everything in boxes beforehand, you’re already shaving minutes off that you would be spending here at the dealership.
P.S. A clean car could mean more money our used car manager gives you for your trade in! Take it by the car wash, too!
2. Bring your updated insurance & registration cards.
When you do not have an updated insurance or registration card, this could prolong the process by up to 12 hours. Why? Because if you happen to be buying your car after 5PM & you have an outdated insurance card, you have to hope that your agent is still open after 5. And speaking from previous experiences, most insurance companies close at 5. If this is the case, you aren’t able to drive the car off the lot until you are able to get an updated card. This is why we recommend getting these two items before arriving. It will definitely save you some precious time!
3. Bring your title or exact payoff.
If you are like most people, you’re probably planning on trading in your vehicle. If you own your vehicle outright, make sure to bring in the title. While this doesn’t necessarily save on time while you’re at the dealership, it does help get your new registration in quicker. If you do not own your vehicle, bring in the exact payoff from your lender. Most banks will give you a ten or twenty day payoff, which is exactly what we need. By having this information readily available, you have cut out another step in the process and have saved more time in the dealership.
4. Bring in your research.
We love it when our customers bring in the research they’ve been doing! How does this help with speeding up the process, though? Instead of spending tons of time showing you several different vehicles, we know you probably had one in mind when you first came in. Any good salesperson is going to sit down with you and find out what exactly you want, so by coming in with that information in your hand, it cuts out about 30-45 minutes we spend trying to determine the best vehicle for you. (Speaking of research, we’ve developed some research pages ourself for you to check out!)
We hope our 4 steps have helped you see where you can save time in the dealership! By no means do you have to do all of these steps. We have just put them out here to help you if you are wanting to save some time during your next vehicle purchase!
