Cadillac Brake Service

Brakes are the most important part of your Cadillac. It is important to maintain them properly and be aware of when they require servicing. Failure to service your brakes can result in dangerous situations while you are on the road.

When to Replace Brakes

There are several ways to determine whether your brakes need to be replaced. One way is to get a visual look at the bake pads. Do this by turning the steering wheel until the wheels of your Cadillac point to the far left or right. This will expose the wheels so that you can see the brakes. At least a 1/4 inch of brake pads need to be visible. If you see that the brake pads appear to be thinner, then bring your vehicle to our service center at Coastal Cadillac at Pawley’s Island, SC for a closer look by our technicians.

Our certified technicians may even tell you that your rotors need to be replaced. Slight grooves in the rotor are created over time as your brake pads exert pressure while braking. A healthy brake rotor is smooth, free of dust, and free of grooves.

Squeaking or squealing noises are another indication that your brakes need to be replaced. If you hear any grinding, bring your vehicle in for servicing. These noises are a definite sign of rotor wear and tear.
If you come across any of these warning signs, it is time to bring your vehicle to our service center at Coastal Cadillac of Pawley’s Island, SC. Our certified technicians will conduct a full inspection to determine the health of your brakes.
